The Purple Passion Fruit variety is slightly larger in size than that of the Yellow Passion Fruit, as well as sweeter and more citrusy in taste. Purple Passion Fruit is highly aromatic and has a tropical, floral aroma, and a sweet-tart flavour with musky undertones reminiscent of guava. Beyond the fruit, Purple Passion Fruit flowers have been used for centuries as a medicinal supplement to reduce symptoms associated with insomnia, asthma, anxiety, and menopause.

To eat this tropical fruit you need to slice it open to expose the edible pulp and seeds.
