CTC, Cut, Tear, Curl refers to the machine processing of tea. Assam CTC Tea has a deeper, stronger taste than whole leaf tea and also brews faster. Usually a blend of tea leaves from the first flush of different plantations, CTC has a more uniform flavour, and is the most commonly used variety of tea in most Indian households. Tea is full of antioxidants and prevents premature ageing. It provides a natural energy boost from caffeine, and also helps with weight loss. Naturally occurring tannins in tea, enhance the immune system and are widely considered to be anti-carcinogenic. We recommend CTC for stronger brews and masala chais.
